English Introduction
Welcome to the Solar & Photovoltaic Engineering Research Center (SPERC) website. In this center, cutting edge researches cover with a wide range over the fields of sustainable power generation, energy storage, power conversion, smart grid-connected system, and green electronic circuit design. The following is a brief introduction of the center’s history, leadership, mission and research topics.
【History & Leadership】
Owing to the aggravation of greenhouse effects and rising awareness of environmental protection, the technology development relating to sustainable green energy has been urgent more and more. The climate in southern Taiwan is inherently suitable for solar-energy development. Accordingly, the SPERC was established in 2008 for the goal of incorporating and linking the expertise of the faculty at the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, developing the core technology of solar energy. The EPERC has teamed up a professional research group. The director of this center is Prof. Chih-Lung Shen (Electronic Engineering Department). The research team further consists of Prof. Tsair-Chun Liang (Institute of Electrical Engineering), Prof. Yu-En Wu (Electronic Engineering Department), Prof. Yeong-Chau Kuo (Electronic Engineering Department), Prof. Kuo-Ching Tseng (Electronic Engineering Department), and Prof. Tzung-Ta Kao (Institute of Electrical Engineering)
【Laboratory Classification】
The Center affiliates with nine individual laboratories, which are shown as follows:
